Who We Are
Back

Bellie Parish Church is situated in the centre of the new town of Fochabers, which dates from 1776.

Bellie Kirk was built in 1797 and has already undergone a number alterations from the original design. The first in the 1830s was by Archibald Simpson, the next in the 1880s due to the installation of the new pipe organ and the last in the 1950s following a fire and the union with the Pringle Church. Over centuries and significantly in recent years, the style of worship and alternative uses for our place of worship has changed. This in itself has been a driver to identifying the need for change.

Bellie Parish, the village of Fochabers and the surrounding area, has increased in population and activity. Bellie has the desire to increase its pastoral and community support to its Parish. An essential step to realising this is to redevelop the inside of our Georgian church in order to provide modern and appropriate facilities to ALL in the parish. A compelling element that will influence the success of this work is the infectious enthusiasm of the community of worshippers who have already identified the need for change. We are encouraged by our new minister whose positive presence is already felt within the community and who in turn is backed by our strong Reorder Team, Congregational Board, Kirk Session, and the wider community.
